Teresa lodges report over ‘slap threat’

KUALA LUMPUR: DAP’s Seputeh MP Teresa Kok has lodged another police report after several Muslim non-governmental organisations (NGOs) offered a RM1,200 reward to anyone who could slap the DAP vice-chairman and take  photographic  vidence.

Kok said she was under threat now after the group increased the reward from RM500 to RM1,200.
The police should investigate the NGO for criminal intent, Kok told reporters after making the report at Tun H S Lee police station.

In the incident in Puduraya yesterday, the group slaughtered chickens and smeared the blood on the images of opposition leaders.
On Tuesday, Kok made a police report after receiving threatening calls from unknown people since Feb 3 after her video, “Onederful Malaysia CNY2014”, was uploaded onto the social media.
Kok had also warned Umno ministers in particular Shafie Apdal, Khairy Jamaluddin and Shabery Chik to stop the unwarranted attacks against her.
She is also regretted that the actual message of the video clip has been twisted and spun by the Utusan Malaysia, Umno and pro-Umno NGOs, calling it anti-Malay and anti-Islam.
Kok claimed that the video was a satirical one and did not insult anyone.
On Monday, the police started investigations for seditious elements in the video.
Ready to cooperate with the police

In another development, Kok’s lawyer SN Nair has sent a letter to the police to offer their cooperation in the investigations into her video clip. He is also acting on behalf of two ‘actors’ in the video.

“We were made to understand that the police intend to record statements from our clients and our clients are prepared to co-operate and assist the police on the same.
“As solicitors representing our clients, we are prepared to co-ordinate and assist you in bringing our clients to the police station to have their statements recorded. We can also arrange for the acceptance of service of your Order to Appear under Sec 111 CPC,” said the letter which was sent to the Gombak police chief.
A copy of the letter was also sent to the city police chief and the AG Chambers.
