PAS Denies Agreeing to One Exco Seat Less

PETALING JAYA: PAS Selangor denied allegations it had agreed to having one Exco seat less in the Selangor Exco line-up.

PAS state secretary Mohd Khairuddin Othman also confirmed that PAS’ central leaders had never agreed to one less Exco seat either.
Mohd Khairuddin explained, ”PAS Selangor is of the opinion that dropping Dr Halimah Ali and Ustaz Sallehen Mukhyi, both of whom have served the state well, is completely without basis.”

“This is certainly not a good start,” he said in a statement.
He added that what was important was the stability of Pakatan Rakyat in Selangor so that they could continue to serve the people well.
He explained this was the only reason the four PAS Excos chose to remain with former Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim after he sacked the others from PKR and DAP.
“PAS will continue to do what is best for the state government,” Mohd Khairuddin stressed.
Meanwhile Harakah Daily reported that PAS secretary-general Mustafa Ali had accepted the three PAS seats in the state Exco with an open heart although it was most unexpected.
Saying he understood how difficult it must have been to make a selection, Mustafa also said, “Whatever the case, we are confident he (Menteri Besar) did his best to balance the current situation.”
He added, “PAS sees this as just another sacrifice we have had to make in order for the political crisis in Selangor to be resolved and for Pakatan Rakyat to move forward.”
Mustafa stressed that all parties needed to appreciate the sacrifices made by others and to remember that the real enemy was BN, and not the partners within the coalition.
