BiblePETALING JAYA: Attorney-General Abdul Gani Patail has announced that there will be no charges made against any party on the issue of the confiscation of 300 Malay bibles from the Bible Society of Malaysia (BSM).
In a statement , Abdul Gani requested for the Selangor Religious Department (Jais) to take further action in accordance with the law.
“The AG’s office has reviewed the facts and statements in regards to the confiscation of the bibles.

“We have also taken into account the Home Ministry’s statement, which said that the bibles are not under the control of the ministry. It does not affect the issue of national security.
The Selangor government had been reported to have given the AG one month to decide on the return of the bibles.
According to Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim, the issue had been with the AG for six months.
Jais had raided BSM on January 2, confiscating more than 300 Malay and Iban language bibles. BSM had written to the AG’s chambers as advised by Khalid.
