PETALING JAYA: Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim can look forward to a peaceful Hari Raya as PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang is on his side.
“This support means a lot as although Selangor is economically strong, it needs a stable political environment,” he said in a statement on Friday.
Khalid added that he would continue to work with exco members to bring the state to greater heights.
Earlier, Hadi defended Khalid, stating he wanted him to remain as the Selangor Menteri Besar.
Hadi said it was his stand and hoped for the support of all PAS leaders.
PKR adviser Anwar Ibrahim had recently announced that the Pakatan Rakyat presidential council accepted the party’s suggestion to replace Khalid with PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, who is also Kajang assemblywoman.
Khalid subsequently said he would only step down if the process followed proper procedures.
