PKR insists Wan Azizah is the only one

PETALING JAYA: PKR is adamant that it will nominate only one candidate, Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, for the Selangor menteri besar’s post.

Party secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution said at a central leadership council meeting yesterday, they decided to stay with its decision to nominate only Wan Azizah .

Saifuddin in a statement also confirmed that PKR had submitted a letter to the palace on Monday.

“PKR deputy president Azmin Ali also reiterated his support for Wan Azizah as the sole candidate for the menteri besar’s post,” said Saifuddin .

PKR and DAP have decided to submit only one name as the sole candidate for the post while PAS has said it would submit two names despite pressure from its Pakatan Rakyat counterparts to nominate only one candidate.

Today is the deadline to submit the names to the palace.
