Frankly speaking I do not see the motive behind the accusation that Najib Tun Razak wanted to give Anwar Ibrahim the Deputy Prime Minister post. It is because; Anwar Ibrahim is worthy enough to take the helm of the nation itself and not as a mere deputy. When a news portal such as MalaysiaKini has already posted this particular story, it is considered as a newsworthy accusation as everyone knows that MalaysiaKini have to get the permission from the Pakatan Rakyat media team first before publishing any stories. This news is strengthened by Anwar’s written response that says that he will oppose any cooperation with UMNO/BN-if it even exists. Anwar never gave any straight answers and this is how he answers any question that is irrelevant for him. So the story is true, maybe it is hard to be proven if UMNO’s goons were to raise any questions. If is fortunate that facts and proof are not important in the Malaysian modern society today. Whatever it is, the people of Malaysia are safe because Anwar Ibrahim is not blinded by the offer and prefers to oppose it before any speculation can arise. The Deputy Prime Minister post is too low for Anwar, plus the fact that he has already taken the seat for 6 years before being sacked by the legendary Tun Dr Mahathir in 1998 on the basis of sodomy accusation and abuse of power. Other than that, never in the world of national or international politics, a Deputy Prime Minister post is filled with the same person for two times. However, we must at the same time analyse the motives behind the offer made by Najib to Anwar. Before this, we were shocked by the accusation made by the former Vice President of Indonesia, Jusof Kalla that Anwar Ibrahim had asked him to be the middle man to forge a peace treaty with Najib Razak. The statement was never denied by Anwar and Najib themselves. It is clear that Najib would did not sign any treaty or contracts regarding the meeting after being approached by Jusof Kalla. This is important to be discussed as the development of this “treaty” has caused conflict among Pakatan and Barisan supporters, who actually wants to have peace with who? If Anwar were to approach Najib for the peace treaty, why does Najib offered the Deputy PM post to Anwar Ibrahim? This is ridiculous. Atas sebab yang sama kenapa aku berdoa dalam hati supaya isu ini tidak begitu dipanjang-panjangkan, sebab ternyata tidak menguntungkan Pakatan Rakyat. Because of the same reason, why we are we hoping that this issue would not be prolonged? It’s truly because any treaty would not benefit the Pakatan Rakyat at all. |
