Apart from Sohaimi and Reezal Merican, another candidate who was endorsed from the Youth wing was Deputy Youth chief Razali Ibrahim.
The 16 incumbents who managed to retain their posts were Mustapa Mohamed, Idris Haron, Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Idris Jusoh, Ahmad Shabery Cheek, Jamaludin Jarjis, Mahdzir Khalid.
The others are Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi, Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, Dr Abd Latiff Ahmad, Bung Moktar Radin, Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim, Jamil Khir Baharom, Shahidan Kassim and Razali Ibrahim.

Complaints and protests
Meanwhile Umno Election Commission chiarman Tajol Rosli Ghazali announced that the party has set up a special committee to look into all possible complaints and protests on the party’s 2013 election process.
He said the committee set up by the Supreme Council would be chaired by Umno executive secretary Ab Rauf Yusoh.
“Soon after the election is concluded, there will be complaints and protests filed at the branch and divisional levels.
“Therefore, the Supreme Council has set up a special committee to look into all the complaints and protests,” he told reporters here yesterday.
Commenting further, Ab Rauf said the committee would investigate each protest before taking any further action.
“At the moment, we have yet to receive any protest from any quarters and it is normal for protests to be filed after the election,” he said.
He said no deadline to file the protest had been set so far, but the committee would definitely study the all complaints and protests within a reasonable period of time.
Meantime, Ab Rauf said Umno headquarters and Election Committee would also look into all suggestions, opinions and constructive criticism to improve the newly-adopted electoral college system.
“We welcome all suggestions and opinions to further improve the system to ensure smooth running of the party’s next election,” he said.
Overall, he said the Umno headquarters were satisfied with the election process under the electoral college system.
