PETALING JAYA: Barely a day after giving an interview on MyWatch’ s future plans, its chairman R Sri Sanjeevan received a death threat via text message.
The message, which was sent at 3.53am today, is written in Tamil with foul language stating, “ You think you’re so big. You don’t play with me. Confirm you will die in my hands. Call me if you are man enough.”
Speaking to FMT, Sanjeevan said that he only saw the text message few hours earlier and suspected it has something to do with his plans to resurrect the anti-crime NGO.
“It could be either the drug or the gambling syndicate,” said Sanjeevan, adding that he would lodge a police report on the matter later.
However, Sanjeevan said he had little faith that the police would provide adequate protection to him, after getting gunned down last year.
“Last time, I lodged many police reports on the death threats I received but received no protection.
“But when I was shot, the Negeri Sembilan police had the cheek to say that I did not lodge any reports,” he said.
Sanjeevan is due to lodge a police report on the latest threat at the Jempol district police headquarters at 2pm later.
On July 27, Sanjeevan was gunned down by an unknown gunman while driving with his friend in Bahau, Negeri Sembilan.
Although Inspector General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar himself vowed to get to the bottom of the matter, no one was arrested to date.
