Lim Hock Seng, an influential executive councillor in the Penang state government, claimed that the complainant G Paradase Naidu, 36, was lying.
“He lodged a false report. I did not assault anyone. The person is lying,” Lim told FMT when contacted.
He however declined to comment further, adding that he had yet to read the content of the alleged police report against him.
Paradase Naidu had lodged a police report in Mak Mandin on Saturday that he was assaulted and chased away by Lim the night before on Dec 20.
In his report lodged at 10.30pm, Paradase alleged that the incident took place at 9.20pm in Lim’s service centre in Jalan Raja Uda in Bagan Jermal constituency.
Lim confirmed that Paradase had come to meet him at his service centre, but did not want to disclose any further details on what transpired then.
“I did not even want to see him,” said Lim.
Paradase Naidu had allegedly gone to meet Lim to seek his help to organise a Ponggal function in the constituency.
In his report, Paradase Naidu alleged that he had waited nearly two hours to see Lim at his service cente and when he eventually did faced him, the former had assaulted him and chased him away.
