Penang’s move to paint apartments in PAS colours

KUALA LUMPUR: If the Penang state government has its way four of the 26 apartment blocks in Taman Tun Sardon, George Town , will be painted in PAS colours and symbol.

This has raised the heckles of MCA Vice President Chew Mei Fun. She says this is unethical and a clear sign of DAP campaigning for PAS.
” Turning housing units into political advertisements will further divide the community.” Chew said in a press statement.

Chew also raised concern over the fact that certain Pakatan leaders “might prevent BN supporters from living in the ‘PAS’ apartments”.
“The RM1million allocation to repaint the apartment blocks, as announced by state Housing exco Jagdeep Singh, are public funds, and using the funds to advertise their political party is unethical and smacks of power abuse.”
“If not stopped, we might see paintings of DAP’s “Rocket” and PKR’s “eye” being painted on public buildings, which the DAP state government will proudly term as “street art” to prevent local authorities from washing it away,” said Chew.
